If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, you might want to know that I just sent out 100 personal invitations to my friends at Unity Church in Albany.

And I offered them a special bonus (limited to the first 30 tickets) that in all fairness I should offer to YOU first.

So here it is: For the first 30 tickets sold including all you beloved fast action takers who have ALREADY bought your tickets, I am going to give away a painting (Limit one per household).

You may not know about my paintings but at a certain point in my “career” as a compulsive singer/songwriter, I couldn’t perform at all. I was ready to quit. So I did. and I started painting instead.

And I found that painting was really satisfying in that I did not need to sweat bullets to get people to show up and sit in the seats. I could just paint and then move on. If people liked them great. If not, whatever. For me it was the act of creating itself that held (and still holds) the most delight for me.

The thing with music is a little weird because the creative process often REQUIRES an audience.

And that’s true of November 19th. It’s not an event where we, the musicians, perform AT you the audience while you sit there all quiet and reverent. We will all be creating this spectacular musical experience TOGETHER…

1st of all my guitar hero Gene Moore confirmed the confirmation of the confirmation yesterday. He has been a part of my musical journey since 1982! And I deeply, deeply yearn for you to experience his brilliance… and I SELFISHLY want to make some great music with him again…. (as if that’s really “selfish” right? NOT!) So he will DEFINITELY be there. That’s one special announcement.

And secondly….

I managed to convince Ms. Bethany Gonyea, founder of the Albany Peace Project to join us on vocals. You see, SHE was a music major at CRANE SCHOOL OF MUSIC before health issues clobbered her and steered her towards a path of personal healing, transformation and changing the world. I think people in this community should hear her sing because she’s really, really good.

We will definitely be singing the song I wrote inspired by her Peace Project, “Be The Change”…

And if I actually sell all these “gosh darn” tickets to this one time event, I pledge to give 10% of the gross to the Albany Peace Project. THERE. I said it in public. Now I have to sell all these tickets. I ALSO pledge to never, again attempt to promote my own concerts! I love making music. I do not love wrangling “butts into them thar seats.”.
