Commentary:
Please Note: this is a Love Song and a Political Song. In the midst of all the gearing up for war I saw the movie "The Handmaid's Tale" starring Robert Duvall, Faye Dunaway, Natasha Richardson and Aiden Quinn. Written by Margaret Atwood, it was a powerful and profound story the left me deeply moved. Added to the mix was quite a bit of background from my Manhattanville College days studying Liberation Theology with professor Cora Brady. Somehow a song emerged from the view point of the family member left behind after someone they love has been arrested or "disappeared" for their political views...I think the song would work even better with a rich alto female vocalist...Joan Baez? Jewel?
